Connections Conference XXXII is set for October 24, 2014, at the Delta College Planetarium in Bay City. Conference registration has begun. This year a group discount is being offered for Tutors and SI Leaders attending.
Presentation proposals are due October 1st.
The MTA would like to thank everyone who attended Connections XXXI: Grand Ideas in Tutoring on Friday, November 8th, 2013 at Davenport University's Lettinga campus in Grand Rapids, MI.
We would also like to thank keynote speaker Dr. Saundra McGuire for sharing her knowledge, experience, and wisdom with us. Dr. McGuire has graciously provided copies of her presentation slides for both her keynote address, The Role of Metacogntion in Effecive Tutoring, and her break-out session, The Role of Emotions in Learning.
Congratulations to Brian Frost of Davenport University who was the recipient of the Tutor of the Year award. Thank you Brian for your dedication to helping students achieve their academic goals.
Congratulations also to Karen Mosier of Davenport University who was voted President-Elect and will begin her term as president at the Connections XXXII conference hosted by Delta College on October 24th, 2014, and to Monica Bouman of Jackson College who was elected as Treasurer for the MTA.
The MTA Board would like to thank Steven Tuckey of Jackson College for all his hard work as President this past year. The Board would also like to recognize and thank Scott Werhnyak of Oakland Community College for his years of service as Treasurer.
