The MTA is a professional
state organization serving the needs of those interested and
involved in tutoring post-secondary education. Our annual conference
brings together a group of people who care about issues in tutoring
and would like to share their successful strategies with you.
We provide Michigan tutorial personnel a network for sharing,
growth, and learning opportunities.
Spring 2010 Newsletter is available as a PDF file.
ASSOCIATION PURPOSE
AND OBJECTIVES:
- Promote interaction
among members of the higher education learning communities via
open and effective networks for sharing.
- Enhance professional
development and training for tutorial personnel by providing
opportunities to exchange theories, methods, and strategies.
- Provide opportunities
for tutors to develop their leadership and communication skills
through active involvement in the association.
- Create and encourage
an exchange of tutorial resources, research, and information.
Our 28th Connections Conference will be hosted by St.Clair Community College (SC4) in Port Huron on Friday, October 22, 2010!
It's time to submit a proposal for the 2010 conference! The theme is “Tutoring for an Age of Change.” Ten years of a new century have transformed education already—what will the next years bring? What changes are occurring in student populations, technology, course delivery, even college missions, that affect our tutoring? Proposal deadline is Tuesday, June 15, 2010. We encourage you to submit your proposal via email to Samuel Drake at drakesam@msu.edu
Do you have questions about the MTA? Would you like to become more involved in the MTA? Do you have a presentation you would like to make at our annual conference? Would you like to nominate a tutor for the tutor of the year ward? Follow the link at left to our current board members and contact one of them to have your question answered or make yourself heard.
