Annual
Fall Connections Conference

Our silver
anniversary conference in 2007 on Friday, October 19
at Muskegon Community
College was a great success! The Michigan
Writing Centers Association's Fall Ideas Exchange
on Saturday, October 20 at MCC had record attendance
as well. Congratulations to "Ms. MTA," conference
chair Kathryn Schrader, for a memorable event.
Here is schedule
of sessions presented. |
|
| MTA's
first president, Linda Gross, was our keynote speaker.
Linda presented at the first MTA conference as a peer
writing tutor from Michigan State, where she still works
as director of career development services. |
|
| The Tutor
of the Year is David Fekel from Oakland University (who
also won the nicest door prize). Here his proud supervisor
Beth De Verna presents him with the MTA award. |
 |
| Congratulations
to our new President, Kim Boose of Oakland Community College! |

Muskegon's
courtyard is beautiful,
despite the cold and windy day. |
We are seeking
hosts for the 2009 and 2010 conferences; it's fun and a chance
to really raise the profile of tutoring on your campus!
