ASSOCIATION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

  • Promote interaction among members of the higher education learning communities via open and effective networks for sharing.
  • Enhance professional development and training for tutorial personnel by providing opportunities to exchange theories, methods, and strategies.
  • Provide opportunities for tutors to develop their leadership and communication skills through active involvement in the association.
  • Create and encourage an exchange of tutorial resources, research, and information.

Annual Fall Connections Conferences

Every fall the MTA organizes a Connections Conference. The conferences are hosted by a member college of the association. The main purpose of the conferences is to bring together experts in the field of education to present sessions of interest to the membership.

Our 27th conference on Friday, October 30, 2009 featured a keynote by Dr. Lane Glenn titled Failure to Launch, about the decreasing academic success and even academic presence of young men. How can we better engage and support these students?
